Past Events

Do you love Hiking, Snowshoeing, and sitting around a campfire/making s'mores? Then this event is for you! Our Fall/Winter Retreats are the perfect chance to get away from the stress of classes for a fun-filled weekend! We spend 2-nights (Friday and Saturday) at the Interpretative Center at Foley Mountain Conservation Area. It's a great way for everyone to get to know each other and make new friends!

At the beginning of every year the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, at Carleton, hosts a Corn Boil! Not only do you get all the corn you can eat, and apple cider to drink for FREE, but it is a great way to meet other students and faculty in your department! To make this event a success, they need some volunteers to help shuck the corn. In the past CUGESA members have happily volunteered to conquer such a task.

Annual Corn Boil

We arrange transportation to a nearby apple orchard to pick your own apples at the end of September. It's usually our first off campus event of the year and we ALWAYS have loads of fun and fill-up on lots of apple goodies!

Apple Picking

Need a break from fall semester exams? To celebrate the end of the fall semester, we all get together before the break to have a night of music, food and games at the James Street Pub!

Merry CUGESA Xmas

Our Speaker Series took place at Oliver's, where grad students, alumni, and professors gave short 5-10min presentations about their experiences and current projects they were working on.
